We focused on establishing a - for most participants - new level of trust and connection through listening exercises that invited deep reflection as well as candid feedback. From there, collaborative initiatives for lasting change were developed within the institution. Recognizing how shaming is often being used as an “educational tool” by teachers and parents, and how harmful and counterproductive its effects are, we designed “Education without Shaming” workshops aimed at addressing this.
